q: can I sign up to be a coach?

A: Yes. All coaches are required to do a background check and required to be certified by the Hawaii Pony association. Head coaches may have between 2-3 assistant coaches. Once your child is placed on a team you can check with your coaches to see how you can help.

q: can i sign up to be a team mom?

A: Yes. Head coaches will be identified by the start of season, they will need a team mom to help with anything they need. Once your child is placed on a team you can check with your head coach on how you can help.

A: Yes. It depends on what league your child is in, but there is always some type of fundraising to help us fund the year with equipment and supplies. At the beginning of the season, coaches will discuss the upcoming fundraising.

Practices & games

q: when and where will games be played?

A: Depending on what league/division your child is playing. Week day games are usually at 4:30pm and Saturdays (Times may vary) A game schedule will be given to you by either coaches or team mom before your season is to start.


Q: What is PONY Baseball?

A: PONY is an acronym of "Protect Our Nations Youth" The program was designed for the youth of our country to enjoy what is believed to be the national sport.

Q: What equipment should we buy and what is supplied?

A: It is recommended that your child have his/her own helmet, bat and glove. (Due to covid-19 restrictions players are prohibited from sharing items). Coaches will have practice games and balls to use. For Shetland (T-ball), the T's are supplied. Shetland/Pinto/Mustang Divisions have to wear rubber cleats or flat shoes. Bronco Division will have the option to wear metal/rubber cleats.

q: what do the players wear for games and practices?

A: Each player will be given a game shirt, pants, socks, belt and cap. (Depending on division) These will be worn fore each game. For practices, your child should wear baseball pants, any shirt and a ball cap and well as safety cup/pelvic protector for girls. Water for during practices/games are recommended and jackets for after as well.
